Chaldean Patriarch Sako meets with Syriac Studies officials to discuss community affairs in Baghdad
BAGHDAD — In his ongoing efforts to address key issues affecting the Chaldean–Syriac–Assyrian community in Iraq, Chaldean Patriarch Mar Louis Raphael Sako recently met with Anne Andrews Gulag, Director General of Syriac Studies, and Florence Behnam, Director of the Department of Supervision and Training Affairs, in Baghdad.
The meeting was also attended by Patriarchal Assistant Bishop Basilius Yaldo. The discussions began with a focus on the significance of Patriarch Sako’s return to Baghdad, following a decree issued by Iraqi Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani. The attendees congratulated Patriarch Sako on his return to his primary headquarters in Baghdad.
In addition to celebrating Patriarch Sako’s return, the meeting delved into critical matters concerning the Directorate of Syriac Studies, emphasizing the importance of education and cultural preservation for the Chaldean–Syriac–Assyrian communities.
