New Syriac Orthodox church with golden dome to open in Zahle, Lebanon
ZAHLE, Lebanon — According to the Universal Syriac Union Party (USUP), a new Syriac Orthodox Church will be opened in Zahle, Lebanon, featuring a golden dome inspired by Russian church designs.
The construction of the church was funded by Archbishop Niven Sikli, the representative of the Antiochian Church to the Patriarchate of Moscow and all Russia.
The USUP in Lebanon praised this valuable initiative, highlighting its role in affirming Zahle’s historical identity and emphasizing steadfastness, resistance, and Christian unity. The USUP also stressed the importance of multiple initiatives at all levels to ensure that Zahle and Lebanon endure, and that church bells continue to ring in the region.
