Universal Syriac Union Party honors Syriac martyrs of Lebanese Civil War at annual festival
ZAHLE, Lebanon — The Universal Syriac Union Party (USUP) in Lebanon annually commemorates the martyrs of the Syriac (Aramean–Chaldean–Assyrian) people who perished during the Lebanese Civil War.
This year, the festival was titled “1132 Syriac Martyrs Rose within Ranks of Lebanese Resistance for Lebanon.”
The party invited visual, audio, and written media to cover the central festival, which will be held at Syriac Martyrs Square in Zahle, at 19:00 on Saturday, 27 July.
The festival will be attended by the families of the Lebanese resistance martyrs, public figures, and representatives of Syriac (Aramean–Chaldean–Assyrian) institutions and various Lebanese parties.
Several speeches will be delivered during the festival, including those from USUP President Ibrahim Mrad, as well as the heads of the Kataeb Party, Lebanese Forces, National Liberal Party, and the Cedar Guards.
