USUP President Ibrahim Mrad criticizes Hezbollah’s role in Lebanon’s destruction

BEIRUT — Ibrahim Mrad, President of the Universal Syriac Union Party (USUP) and Secretary General of the Christian Front, stated via Facebook that Hezbollah is weak and is leading Lebanon towards destruction and devastation.

Mrad asserted that Hezbollah has demonstrated its weakness amid repeated strikes and assassinations of its leaders. He accused the militia of continuing to monopolize the decision of war and peace, thereby usurping the role of the Lebanese Army.

He further criticized Hezbollah for exposing Lebanon and its people, especially the Shiite community, to sudden attacks, death, destruction, and further economic collapse.

Mrad emphasized that Hezbollah must promptly hand over its weapons to the Lebanese Army, which he described as the only legitimate force authorized to defend Lebanon and its people.

He called on political parties, MPs, and sovereign forces to appeal to the international community for protection by implementing UN Security Council Resolution No. 1559. This resolution aims to save Lebanon from a sectarian militia that, according to Mrad, harasses the country and its people in service of Iran, which he accused of trading its axis leaders, including Hamas leaders, to Israel as a consolation prize in negotiations and the sharing of spoils.
