Syrian regime forces launch deadly shelling on Dayro Zcuro, SDC condemns attacks and warns of security deterioration
DAYRO ZCURO, North and East Syria — Syrian regime forces and their affiliated National Defense Forces (NDF) indiscriminately shelled cities and towns in the eastern countryside of Dayro Zcuro (Deir ez-Zor), resulting in the deaths of civilians and injuries to others.
The Deir ez-Zor Military Council (DZMC), affiliated with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and Internal Security Forces (ISF), repelled infiltration attempts following the shelling.
In a statement, the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) condemned these attacks and held the Syrian regime fully responsible for the violence.
The SDC warned of a potential deterioration in the security situation in the area and praised the heroic efforts of the SDF and ISF in repelling the attacks, thereby maintaining the region’s security and stability.
The SDC also extended condolences to the families of those who lost their lives and wished a speedy recovery to the injured. They called on all political and national forces to denounce the criminal acts of the Syrian regime, which they argue bolster the capabilities of the Islamic State (ISIS) and undermine efforts to combat terrorism.
