U.S. fighters arrived to Middle East amid growing tension
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Amid the recent tension between Iran and Israel, the U.S. Central Command announced the arrival of 12 F-22A Raptor stealth fighters to the Middle East, as part of the changes in the situation of U.S. forces in the region.
The statement declared that this measure came to mitigate the possibility of regional escalation by Iran or its militias in the region.
Last Friday, the U.S. Department of Defense stated that it will deploy additional fighter jets and navy warships in the region.
Iran had accused Israel of assassinating Ismail Haniyeh, the former head of the Hamas Political Bureau, amid escalated tension in the region.
