Sixth annual Syriac language course for primary students opens in Baghdede, Iraq

BAGHDEDE, Iraq — Under the patronage of Syriac Catholic Archbishop of Mosul and its Environs Mar Younan Hinno, the 6th Syriac language course at Mar Ephrem Summer School for primary students in the Nineveh Plains town od Baghdede (Qaraqosh / Hamdaniya), Iraq, has officially commenced, following the Ministry of Education’s curriculum.

“The primary goal of this course is to teach the Syriac language, including its letters and stories. This course aims to strengthen students’ language skills and prepare them for enrollment in their regular schools,” stated Father Stefanos, the course supervisor.

The course is overseen by Evangelical Deacon Issam Mikha Yako, with support from qualified teachers specializing in the Syriac language.
