Kurdish Left Party demands release of Syriac Leader Saeed Malke on 11th anniversary of his arrest by Syrian regime
NORTH AND EAST SYRIA — In a public statement, the Kurdish Left Party urged the Syrian regime to release disappeared Syriac political leader Saeed Malke and all prisoners of conscience on the 11th anniversary of Malke’s arrest.
The statement expressed the Party’s commitment to standing in solidarity with the rights of people in the region and around the world to achieve their democratic rights. It also acknowledged the legitimacy of the demands made by the Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) and Kurdish people in rejecting the Syrian regime’s undemocratic policies, which have negatively impacted various ethnic groups in Syria.
In a show of support for the Syriac Union Party (SUP) and the Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) community, the statement called for an end to repressive measures against those who oppose marginalization, repression, and tyranny. The Party reiterated its demand for the Syrian regime to release Saeed Malke and all prisoners of conscience, and to disclose their fate.
The statement emphasized the importance of fulfilling the Syrian people’s demands for freedom, as well as securing the national and democratic rights of all ethnicities in Syria.
