Turkish-backed groups attack pediatrician amid rising chaos in Turkish-occupied Syrian territories, reports Synergy / Hevdestî

NORTH AND EAST SYRIA — A recent human rights report by Synergy / Hevdestî Association for Victims documented alarming violations committed by members of the Turkish-backed Syrian National Army (SNA) in Syria.

The report details an incident in which a leader and several militia members affiliated with the Turkish occupation forces assaulted a pediatrician, forcibly taking him from his clinic to a military police headquarters. The incident reportedly went unpunished, with no legal proceedings initiated against the perpetrators.

The report further highlights growing internal clashes between the various factions of the SNA, particularly in Cafrin (Afrin), Rish Ayno (Ras al-Ayn), and Tel Abyad. These clashes indicate a state of lawlessness and chaos, with the Turkish authorities failing to hold these factions accountable or take action to protect civilians from their crimes.

Cases of killings and a dysfunctional judicial system were also emphasized, underscoring the absence of justice and the lack of punishment for those responsible. The report calls on the Turkish government to adhere to the ceasefire agreement with the United States and to ensure the safety of residents in the areas under its control.

In its conclusion, Synergy / Hevdestî urged that the armed factions under Turkish influence be held accountable for their actions. The association emphasized the need for justice, including prompt and impartial investigations, accountability for perpetrators, and adequate compensation for victims.
