Internal Security Forces and Syrian Democratic Forces of North and East Syria dismantle Islamic State cell in Hasakah, seize weapons and arrest members
HASAKAH, North and East Syria — The Internal Security Forces (ISF) and the Syrian Democrat Forces (SDF) of North and East Syria continue to conduct effective operations to eliminate the Islamic State (ISIS) presence in the region.
The SDF recently announced the dismantling of an ISIS cell in the town of Safyan, located in the countryside of Shaddadi, Hasakah. The SDF Media Center reported that military operations teams neutralized a terrorist cell comprising two individuals involved in orchestrating attacks in the area. A significant cache of weapons and ammunition was also seized during the operation.
In a related development, the Internal Security Forces (ISF) of North and East Syria announced the arrest of an ISIS members south of Al-Hol, in the Hasakah countryside. According to an official statement on the ISF website, the detained individual was involved in smuggling ISIS elements and leaders from inside Al-Hol camp and other locations to territories occupied by Turkish forces.
