Member of Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria martyred in Turkish drone strike
ZALIN, North and East Syria — Continuing its gross violations against the people of North and East Syria, a senior administrator from the region’s Internal Security Forces (ISF) was martyred after a drone targeted the vehicle carrying him.
The ISF confirmed in a statement that the Turkish drone attack targeted a detention facility in the Umm al-Fursan neighborhood of Zalin (Qamishli). The strike resulted in the martyrdom of Metin Dinje (32), the administrator overseeing the facility, which holds individuals detained for criminal offenses.
According to the statement, the ISF believes the attack was an attempt to create chaos within the prison, potentially allowing detainees to escape. The swift action of the Internal Security Forces, however, prevented any insurrection or disorder from occurring inside the facility.
The statement further emphasized that the Turkish occupation’s attacks aim to destabilize the region by distracting the security forces from their duties. It called on the local population to express their outrage at Turkey’s blatant aggression, reaffirming the ISF’s commitment to maintaining security and stability despite the ongoing aggression.
Following the attack, the Internal Security Forces imposed a security cordon around the prison to ensure order and prevent further threats.
