Officials mark 6th anniversary of establishment of Administration of North and East Syria, advocate for democratic solution for all of Syria
NORTH AND EAST SYRIA — On the 6th anniversary of the establishment of the Democratic Autonomous Administration of the Region of North and East Syria (DAARNES), several officials reaffirmed their commitment to the administration, viewing it as a key solution to the ongoing Syrian crisis.
Siham Quryo, Co-Chair of the Peoples’ Democratic Council, stated that DAARNES) was founded in 2018 to address the security vacuum in the region. This initiative followed the sacrifices of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), which successfully liberated many areas from Islamic State (ISIS) control.
Gabriel Chamoun, Deputy Co-Chair of the DAARNES’s Executive Council, acknowledged the ongoing Turkish attacks on the region but emphasized that the administration continues to serve its people. Chamoun noted that they remain focused on improving the quality of governance through DAARNES, which he sees as a beacon of hope for all Syrians.
Armin Mardo, head of the High Property Committee, praised DAARNES for supporting the diverse communities of North and East Syria. He stressed the Administration’s willingness to engage in dialogue with all parties to find a solution that meets the aspirations of all Syrians.
The DAARNES High Property Committee plays a pivotal role in managing and preserving the properties of absentees from the Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) and Armenian communities.
