Bethnahrin Women’s Union showcases Syriac heritage at Delbrück Cultural Festival in Germany

DELBRÜCK, Germany — The Bethnahrin Women’s Union (Huyodo d’Neshe d’Bethnahrin, HNB), Germany Branch, set up a stall to sell traditional dishes from the ancient Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) heritage during the one-day popular festival in Delbrück.

The festival featured the participation of various cultural groups from across Germany. Alongside their food stall, HNB members took the opportunity to introduce attendees to the rich civilization and culture of the Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) people, whose history spans 7,000 years in Beth Nahrin (Mesopotamia).

The Delbrück Cultural Festival, held annually, aims to provide all communities in Germany a platform to showcase their cultures through popular foods, theatrical performances, and other events.

The proceeds from the HNB stall were allocated to support the activities of the Bethnahrin National Council (Mawtbo Umthoyo D’Bethnahrin, MUB), which continues its efforts to secure the national rights of the Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) people in Beth Nahrin.
