Bethnahrin Women’s Union showcases Syriac–Assyrian heritage at Delmenhorst, Germany, cultural day

DELMENHORST, Germany — The Bethnahrin Women’s Union (Huyodo d’Neshe d’Bethnahrin, HNB), Delmenhorst Branch, actively participated in the Peoples’ Cultural Day event in Delmenhorst, Germany.

The HNB members aimed to raise awareness about their heritage by offering traditional Syriac foods to the diverse communities in the city. On the first day, free samples of Syriac dishes were distributed to those interested in experiencing the unique flavors of Syriac cuisine.

By the second day, all the food prepared by HNB members was sold, with the goal of building stronger connections with the local community and supporting the ongoing work of the HNB.

Additionally, HNB members held a dialogue session with representatives of various cultural groups, providing an overview of the Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) people, their language, customs, and traditions.

The HNB expressed gratitude to its members for their efforts in preparing the food. The proceeds from the event were dedicated to supporting the work of HNB and relief projects by the Bethnahrin National Council (Mawtbo Umthoyo D’Bethnahrin, MUB), which focuses on assisting the Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) people in their ancestral homeland of Beth Nahrin (Mesopotamia).
