Syriac Orthodox Mor Ephrem Church Women’s Committee in Göppingen, Germany, supports Syriac–Assyrian heritage and communities through annual German church event
GÖPPINGEN, Germany — The Women’s Committee of the Syriac Orthodox Mor Ephrem Church in Göppingen, Germany, led by Khuroyo Habib Önder, took part in a longstanding tradition by participating in an annual celebration hosted by a local German church. This event has been a fixture in the community for 30 years.
At the event, the Women’s Committee set up a table offering traditional Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) cuisine to attendees. One of the committee members shared that the proceeds from the sale would be sent as aid to support churches and monasteries of the Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) people in their homeland of Beth Nahrin (Mesopotamia), as well as to those in need.
The committee’s participation not only celebrates Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) culture but also strengthens ties with the wider community while providing meaningful support to those back home.
