Syriac Orthodox Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II inaugurates events hall in Bartella, Iraq
BARTELLA, Iraq — Following his visit to Erbil, Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI), to assess the situation of the Chaldean–Syriac–Assyrian community, Syriac Orthodox Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II officially inaugurated an events hall in the Nineveh Plains town of Bartella, Iraq.
The opening ceremony was attended by prominent Church figures, including the head of Mor Matta Monastery Archbishop Mor Timotheus Musa al-Shamani and Archbishop of Mosul, Kerkheslokh (Kirkuk), the KRI Mor Nicodemus Daoud Sharaf. Also present were Syriac Orthodox Archbishop of Gozarto (Jazira) and Euphrates Mor Maurice Amsih and Patriarchal Secretary Mor Augeen al-Khouri Naamat.
The event was attended by the presence of priests, nuns from various archdioceses, and a large gathering of believers from the Chaldean–Syriac–Assyrian community. The inauguration was marked by joyful celebrations and special Church rituals.
