Syriac–Assyrian parties from Syria discuss unity and challenges during visit to Bet-Nahrain Democratic Party in Erbil, Kurdistan Region of Iraq

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region of Iraq — A delegation from the Coordination and Consultation Committee of the Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) Political Parties in Syria visited the headquarters of the Bet-Nahrain Democratic Party in Erbil, Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI).

The delegation included Co-Chair of the Syriac Union Party (SUP) Sanharib Barsom, Head of the Assyrian Democratic Organization (ADO) Gariel Moshe, and Official of the Assyrian Democratic Party (ADP) Ninos Esho. They were received by the Secretary General of the Bet-Nahrain Democratic Party, Romeo Hakkari, along with the officials of the Relations and Media Bureaus.

During the meeting, the parties discussed several key issues concerning the Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) people in Syria and Iraq. They emphasized the importance of ongoing efforts and initiatives among Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) political parties, aimed at unifying their national work.

The delegation provided an update on the situation of Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) communities in Syria, highlighting the challenges they face amid the ongoing conflict and the absence of a political resolution. They also underscored the significance of the Democratic Autonomous Administration in the Region of North and East Syria (DAARNES) in securing gains for the Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) people, while continuing the struggle for full rights in Syria.
