Syriac–Assyrian political delegation from Syria visits Syriac Culture and Arts Directorate in Ankawa, Kurdistan Region of Iraq
ANKAWA, Kurdistan Region of Iraq — As part of their regular visits to Chaldean–Syriac–Assyrian institutions in Iraq, the Coordination and Consultation Committee of the Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) Political Parties in Syria visited the Directorate of Syriac Culture and Arts in Ankawa, Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI).
The delegation included Co-Chair of the Syriac Union Party (SUP) Sanharib Barsom, Head of the Assyrian Democratic Organization (ADO) Gariel Moshe, and Official of the Assyrian Democratic Party (ADP) Ninos Esho. The delegation was welcomed by Kaldo Ramzi Ogna, General Director of Syriac Culture and Arts.
The two sides discussed the various activities and events organized by the Directorate, with the visiting committee praising the Directorate’s efforts in promoting Chaldean–Syriac–Assyrian culture. Special recognition was given to the success of the first Syriac Symposium, hosted in Erbil by the Directorate.
Ogna highlighted the Directorate’s ongoing efforts to advance Chaldean–Syriac–Assyrian culture in the KRI, and beyond, emphasizing collaboration with individuals and institutions dedicated to preserving the heritage of their people.
The visiting delegation expressed their appreciation for the Directorate’s role in preserving and promoting Chaldean–Syriac–Assyrian culture, underscoring the importance of joint efforts among community institutions to further develop cultural initiatives.
