Mor Tuma Church in Södertälje, Sweden hosts Church Choirs Festival
SÖDERTÄLJE, Sweden — The Patriarchal Vicar of the Syriac Orthodox Church in Sweden Mor Dioscorus Benjamin Ataş and Syriac Orthodox archbishop of Sweden and Scandinavia Mor Youhanon Lahdo participated in the Church Choirs, Festival organized by the Syriac Orthodox Youth Union.
The festival was held at the Mor Tuma Church in Södertälje, and it was attended by priests, as well as a large crowd of gathering of the Syriac (Aramean-Chaldean-Assyrian) people.
Many choirs of Syriac people’s churches in Sweden participated in the festival.
It was announced that Choir of Mor Yakub Church in Jakobsberg won the festival this year.
Mor Youhanon Lahdo congratulated the winner church choir.
The organizers of the festival stated that the choirs’ participation shows the youth’s faith in their church, indicating that the youth constitute hope and strength of Syriac people future.
The two archbishops thanked the Mor Tuma Church Council, youth committee, participants and attendees.
