20 deacons and deaconesses ordained in Enköping, Sweden
ENKÖPING— The Patriarchal Vicar of the Syriac Orthodox Church in Sweden Mor Dioscorus Benjamin Ataş celebrated Mass at the Mor Aday Church in Enköping, Sweden, on Feast of Mor Aday.
During the Mass, the archbishop ordained 20 deacons and deaconesses for the Mor Aday parish, amid a solemn spiritual atmosphere.
The archbishop congratulated the newly-ordained deacons and deaconesses, noting that they are an important part of the congregation because they contribute to spiritual development and building the future within the church.
“The commitment of children and youth within the church is a reminder of the importance of investing in our future and supporting the next generation of believers at all levels, ” archbishop Ataş added.
The Mor Aday Church in Enköping has a lively and active parish under the patronage of Father Adi Marawge and Church Council.
The congregation consists of 150 families and 500 members.
The parish has activities for children and youth as well as for adults and the elderly.
