Lecture about Breast Cancer Awareness held in Zalin (Qamishli), North and East Syria
ZALIN, Syria — The Health Authority of the Gozarto (Jazira) Canton in the Democratic Autonomous Administration of the Region of North and East Syria (DAARNES) held a lecture entitled “Breast Cancer and Early Detection” in Zalin (Qamishli), North and East Syria.
In comments to our news desk, Dr. Juhaina Mohammed, who delivered the lecture, stated that all women and girls must have periodic breast self-exanimations.
The lecture focused on breast cancer symptoms, methods of prevention and treatment.
Rojeen Ahmed, Deputy Co-Chair of the Health Authority confirmed that the lecture is the beginning of Pink October campaign, which is in cooperation with the Kurdish Red Crescent that will provide free examination during October.
Pink October is dedicated to breast cancer awareness. Educational campaigns, workshops, lectures and seminars are held, with the aim of raising awareness among women in general and those with breast cancer in particular, in order to encourage preventive health programs for early detection.
