Syriac Union Party held a session in Zalin (Qamishli) and Dayrik, North and East Syria
ZALIN, Dayrik, Syria — On the 19th anniversary of its founding, the Syriac Union Party (SUP) in Syria held sessions in Zalin (Qamishli) and Dayrik (Malikiyah / Derik) in North and East Syria.
The session in Zalin (Qamishli), which was delivered by the SUP Co-Chair Sanharib Barsom, addressed the SUP struggle since its founding so far, in addition to highlighting the challenges that SUP faced, especially during the Baath regime rule.
It was attended by SUP members and supporters, as well as members of the SUP Executive Committee and SUP Council.
Barsom touched upon the experience of the Democratic Autonomous Administration of the Region of North and East Syria (DAARNES) as a strategic alliance for the Syriac people to recognize their rights, achieve their goals and participate in defeating terrorism through the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
The SUP session in and Dayrik (Malikiyah / Derik) was delivered by the SUP Co-Chair Shamiram Danho and a member of SUP Executive Committee Afram Ishak.
The session addressed the SUP struggle over 19 years for the rights of Syriac (Aramean-Chaldean-Assyrian) people.
In comments to our news desk, Ishak stated that the SUP congratulates the Syriac people and pledges to Syriac people and martyrs to continue the struggle and national work.
Ishak added that the session witnessed an assessment of the organizational and political situation, as well as an analysis of the most prominent events experienced by the SUP and Syriac people in Syria.
“The session discussed the most important political developments, the situation of Syriac people and migration,” he declared.
Official of the Syriac Women’s Union (SWU) in Dayrik (Malikiyah / Derik) Georgette Abdel Nour stated that the session was attended by all the institutions of the Bethnahrin National Council (Mawtbo Umthoyo D’Bethnahrin, MUB) in Dayrik (Malikiyah / Derik).
“The event was secured by the Syriac Security Forces (Sutoro and Sutoro Women),” she added.
