Syriac–Assyrian candidate Julian Eliazar to run in Belgium’s upcoming municipal elections
LIÈGE, Belgium — Julian Eliazar, a Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) politician, is preparing to run in the upcoming municipal elections in Belgium.
Eliazar, a member of the Les Engagés party in Liège, previously garnered over 3,000 votes in the federal elections. Now, he is running for a seat on the Liège City Council in the elections set to take place on 13 October.
As the top candidate on his party’s list, Eliazar called on Syriacs (Arameans–Assyrians–Chaldeans) people and the residents of Liège to support him in the elections, promising to advocate for their needs and future development projects.
