Conference of World Medical Association of Suryoye kicks off in Sweden
SÖDERTÄLJE, Sweden — World Medical Association of Suryoye (WMAS) held a series of sessions ahead of the start of its 4th conference, which was held at St. Jacob of Nisinis in Hovsjö, Södertälje, Sweden.
The WMAS conference included speeches that were delivered in the hall of the Mor Aphrem Church in the Ginetta neighborhood.
The conference was opened by Dr. Adad Bar Anto and Dr. Brolin Issa. Then, Archbishop Mor Dioscorus Benjamin Ataş delivered a speech on the importance of medicine and the Syriac language.
Head of the Mor Aphrem Church Council Brigitta Kaya welcomed the attendees and valued their participation in the conference.
The WMAS Head Dr. Fouad Odongo delivered a speech in which he spoke extensively about the WMAS work. He also emphasized the importance of the Syriac language in the field of medicine.
The WMAS Head Assistant Dr. Metin Shangal spoke about the WMAS challenges and how they overcame them. After the speeches, the conference activities were opened at 4:00 p.m.
The conference will continue today, followed by an event at 6:30 p.m., in the Nobel Foundation Hall in Stockholm. On 13 October, seminars and discussions will be held, leading to a final statement of the conference.
The conference will be broadcasted by Suroyo TV and Suryoyo Sat, which both have received invitations to attend the conference.
