Bethnahrin National Council honors Martyr Noura Hanna on first anniversary of her passing
ZALIN, North and East Syria — On the first anniversary of the martyrdom of Noura Hanna, an official of the Syriac Union Party (SUP) in Syria, institutions of the Bethnahrin National Council (Mawtbo Umthoyo D’Bethnahrin, MUB) gathered in Zalin (Qamishli) to honor her memory. Candles were lit at her shrine and at the shrines of all martyrs in the Chaldean Cemetery.
Several families of Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) martyrs participated in visiting the cemetery to pay their respects. The Syriac–Assyrian Martyrs’ Families Foundation organized a vigil within the cemetery courtyard, where slogans celebrating martyrs and their sacrifices were chanted.
During the event, candles were lit, and prayers were offered at the shrine of Noura Hanna and the other martyrs.
Noura Hanna, who dedicated her life to the struggle, was martyred on 23 May 2023. She played a significant role within the institutions of the Democratic Autonomous Administration of the Region of North and East Syria (DAARNES) since its inception.
