First Art Institute inaugurated in Dayrik, North and East Syria
DAYRIK, Syria — In a first of its kind step, the Culture Authority of the Democratic Autonomous Administration of the Region of North and East Syria (DAARNES), in cooperation with Mesopotamia Movement for Culture and Democratic Art, inaugurated the Higher Institute of Arts in Dayrik / Derik (Malikiyah) in the Gozarto (Jazira) Canton.
The opening ceremony began with a minute of silence for souls of the martyrs.
Then, the Institute’s administrator Siham Daoud delivered a speech during which she stressed that peoples of North and East Syria reached this stage and proved their existence through their culture and art.
Representative of the Mesopotamia Movement Khalil Tahlo noted that such gains are achieved due to the martyrs’ sacrifices, stressing continued efforts to follow martyrs’ path.
Co-Chair of the DAARNES Culture Authority Murhaf Fahid wished continued success to all students of the Institute.
After that, the ribbon was cut by mother of martyr Hevrin Khalaf, Suad Mustafa, amid folk songs.
