Christian Front in Lebanon calls for formal complaint against Iran, warns of seizure of Christian land by Hezbollah
BEIRUT — After its weekly meeting, the Christian Front in Lebanon issued a statement urging political parties, MPs, and sovereign authorities to file a formal complaint against the Islamic Republic of Iran.
“Iran is responsible for destabilizing Lebanon’s security and stability, inciting wars that have led to destruction, death, and displacement by financially and militarily supporting a terrorist militia whose members hold Lebanese citizenship but act on behalf of Iran,” the Front declared.
The Front also expressed concerns over violations of Christian village and Church property, warning that some displaced groups are seizing lands and constructing warehouses under the pretext of preparing for winter. These actions, reportedly carried out by force, pose a threat to Christian areas.
“Such violations will be met with force if not addressed by law,” the Front emphasized, noting that Hezbollah appears to be attempting to gain control over Christian areas amidst the influx of displaced people.
The Front called for the establishment of state-run shelters to house displaced individuals before winter, proposing several suitable locations.
In its statement, the Christian Front reiterated its demand for Hezbollah to surrender its weapons to the Lebanese Army and to cease its posturing and intimidation.
