Syriac twin sisters from Germany excel during kickboxing championships
GIESSEN-POLHEIM, Germany — Syriac twins Tabia and Tamara Gergin, both 17, have been training intensively in kickboxing since 2018. Their hard work has led to numerous victories in matches, competitions, and championships across Germany and worldwide.
The twins’ parents are originally from the village of Arkah, Turkey, in the historic region of Tur Abdin. The family now resides in Giessen-Polheim, Germany. Last year, Tabia claimed the world champion title in Canada and topped the leaderboard in two additional sports categories, while Tamara secured third place globally in her weight class. Both sisters had previously won the German national championship.
This year, the twins are set to represent Germany at the World Championship on the Greek island of Rhodes. Following this, Tabia will head to the United Kingdom next month to compete in the 60-kilogram category, aiming for the British championship title.
On behalf of the Suroyo TV and Syriac Press newsdesk, we wish Tabia and Tamara continued success and hope they achieve top honors in kickboxing.
