Widespread protests across North and East Syria condemn Turkish attacks, demand international action
NORTH AND EAST SYRIA — Protests erupted across North and East Syria as thousands gathered to denounce recent Turkish attacks targeting the stability and security of the region. In multiple cities, residents marched in solidarity, condemning what they see as a campaign of aggression by the Turkish occupation aimed at destabilizing communities.
In Zalin (Qamishli), the Star Conference (Kongreya Star) organized a march that started at the Muhammad Sheikho Center for Culture and Art, concluding at the March 12th Martyrs Stadium. There, Democratic Union Party (Partiya Yekîtiya Demokrat, PYD) Co-Chair Parwin Youssef read a statement fiercely condemning the Turkish aggression and calling for international awareness and action.
In Amuda, local residents and rallied together to express their opposition to the attacks, emphasizing the need for regional unity. Meanwhile, in Dayro Zcuro (Deir ez-Zor), the Zenobia Women’s Gathering Council issued a statement condemning Turkey’s actions as a genocidal campaign against all peoples and communities in North and East Syria. The Council described the attacks as crimes against humanity occurring under a backdrop of international silence.
The Association of Families of Martyrs, War Wounded, and Prisoners in Raqqa Canton called for public resistance against the incursions and urged international and human rights organizations to step in and prevent further violations.
In Holeb (Aleppo), thousands of residents from the neighborhoods of Sheikh Maqsoud and Achrafieh marched from the March 8th Meeting Hall, demanding an end to Turkey’s occupation attacks, which they claim are intended to disrupt regional stability and displace local populations.
Through these demonstrations, the people of northern and eastern Syria called for unity, resilience, and global intervention to halt what they regard as unjust aggression threatening their communities.
