Administrative and political bodies in North and East Syria condemn Turkish attacks, urge international protection for Turkish bombardment

NORTH AND EAST SYRIA — The Peoples’ Democratic Council, Syrian Democratic Council (SDC), and Martyrs’ Families Council have condemned recent Turkish attacks on North and East Syria, stating that the strikes are aimed at destabilizing the region’s security and stability.

In a statement read by Co-Chair Siham Quryo, the Peoples’ Democratic Council (PDC) condemned what it described as “barbaric attacks” targeting civilians, children, women, and vital civilian infrastructure. The PDC urged the international community to uphold its responsibility to protect the region by closing its airspace to Turkish aircraft.

The SDC also released a statement denouncing the attacks, which have impacted critical infrastructure and disrupted water, electricity, gas, and fuel supplies. The SDC statement called on Turkey to end its aggression against the people of North and East Syria and to resolve its internal issues without involving the Syrian populace in its crises.

In a separate statement, the Martyrs’ Families Council of Gozarto (Jazira) Canton held a demonstration in front of the UN headquarters in Zalin (Qamishli), condemning Turkey’s actions. The Council’s statement asserted that Turkey is using these attacks to distract from its own internal struggles by exporting crises abroad. They urged human rights organizations worldwide to speak out and condemn what they referred to as “Turkish fascist practices.”
