Syriac Orthodox Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II advocates for clean energy at seminar on sustainability in Daramsuq
DARAMSUQ — Under the theme Clean Energy for a Sustainable Future, Syriac Orthodox Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II participated in a seminar in Daramsuq (Damascus) focused on clean energy solutions for sustainable development. The event took place in the Beirut Hall of the Golden Mezzeh Hotel and was organized by the Syriac Orthodox Patriarchate in collaboration with the CRETA group.
The seminar brought together international and local organizations, ambassadors, and representatives from countries committed to clean energy and environmental conservation. Patriarch Aphrem II emphasized that this seminar represents a first step towards transformative change in people’s lives and environmental preservation.
“Environmental sustainability and humanitarian efforts can improve quality of life without compromising our planet,” he remarked, expressing hope that the seminar would inspire innovative projects and help restore environmental balance.
The event was also attended by Patriarchal Assistant Mor Yousef Bali, Patriarchal Secretary Mor Augeen al-Khoury Nemat, the Executive Director of the Mor Afrem Patriarchal Development Authority, and its staff.
