Syriac Orthodox Archbishop Sharaf leads funeral prayer for late Syriac Orthodox prelate Mor Baselios Thomas I in Ankawa, Kurdistan Region of Iraq
ANKAWA, Kurdistan Region of Iraq — Syriac Orthodox Archbishop of Mosul, Kerkeslokh (Kirkuk), and the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI), Mor Nicodemus Daoud Matta Sharaf, presided over the funeral prayer for the late Syriac Orthodox Catholicos of India and head of the Malankara Jacobite Syrian Christian Church Aboon Mor Baselios Thomas I, who passed away at age 95.
The service was held at Umm al-Nur Church in Ankawa, KRI, attended by priests, deacons, deaconesses, the church choir, and a congregation of believers.
