ANKARA — Turkey-based women’s rights organization We Will Stop Femicide reported in its October publication that 48 women were killed, with an additional 23 women dying under mysterious circumstances across Turkey.

According to the report, 10 of the women were murdered due to marital disputes, 3 were killed over economic issues, 3 committed suicide, and 1 woman lost her life after being humiliated. The causes behind the deaths of 31 other women remain unknown.

The group did not provide additional information on the 23 women who died under unexplained circumstances. It highlighted that no perpetrators have been identified, nor have fair trials or preventive measures been undertaken, warning that this inaction could lead to increased violence against women.
