Beth Nahrain Organization for Women in Iraq holds lectures on strategic planning and demographic change

BAGHDEDE, Iraq — The Beth Nahrain Organization for Women (BNOW) held a series of activities to promote awareness and strategic planning for civil society members, at its headquarters in Baghdede, Nineveh Plain, Iraq.

 

The event began with a training course on strategic planning and writing strategic plans to the BNOW Executive Committee Members.

 

The 2-day course was delivered by the BNOW Vice President Ronak Elias Hanna.

 

The first day training focused on the importance of strategic planning in achieving the BNOW goals.

 

Furthermore, the BNOW vision and strategic message was written.

The second day training, entitled “Demographic Change” was delivered by member of the Bethnahrin National Council (Mawtbo Umthoyo D’Bethnahrin, MUB) Youssef Yacoub Matti.

 

He defined demographic change, as well as its causes and consequences, focusing on its impact on the Chaldean- Syriac-Assyrian people in the Nineveh Plain.

 

The event was attended by BNOW members and officials from Baghdede and Karamlesh.

 

An open discussion, on the impact of migration and wars on the demographic distribution in the region since 1921 so far, was also held.

 

The BNOW members thanked Matti for the valuable information, which provided them with a deeper insight into important demographic issues.
