Bethnahrin Women’s Union held a seminar in Netherlands on history of Syriac women
HENGELO, Netherlands — With the approach of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, the Bethnahrin Women’s Union (Huyodo d’Neshe d’Bethnahrin, HNB) held a seminar on women history and HNB struggle in the Hall of the Virgin Mary Church in Hengelo, Netherlands.
The seminar was attended by 35 people, the majority of them were Syriac (Aramean-Chaldean-Assyrian) women, in addition to several men and representatives of institutions of Syriac people, including the Syriac Women’s Foundation and Mor Jirjis Church of Hasakah, Syria.
The seminar discussed the role of women in societies throughout history, with a focus on role of Syriac women.
The attendees also discussed the challenges facing Syriac women in various fields of life.
The HNB role and struggle to empower Syriac women were also touched on.
At the end of the seminar, the attendees put forward their opinions, suggestions and inquiries about the seminar.
They also thanked the HNB for the information provided during the seminar.
