Syriac, Kurdish and Arabic adopted as official languages in areas of Democratic Autonomous Administration of the Region of North and East Syria
NORTH AND EAST SYRIA — Based on the Social Contract of the Democratic Autonomous Administration of the Region of North and East Syria (DAARNES), Syria, Kurdish and Arabic were adopted as official languages in DAARNES areas.
The Co-Chairs of the Executive Council of the Gozarto (Jazira) Canton announced a circular stating that all bodies and offices of the Executive Council and all city councils must commit to writing in the 3 official languages Syriac, Kurdish and Arabic, during conferences, events and invitation cards, as well as for signs, paintings and any other matters related to this regard.
The circular also included that the necessary measures must be taken against any party that does not commit to this circular, in addition to addressing the Social Contract Protection Court regarding any violation.
The Co-Chairs also announced that this circular will be sent to those who need to implement it since the date of its issuance.
