Syriac letters monument inaugurated in entrance of Baghdede in Nineveh Governorate, Iraq

BAGHDEDE, NINEVEH, Iraq — The Governor of Nineveh Governorate in Iraq Abdulkader al-Dakhil visited the Syriac town of Baghdede accompanied by Provincial Officials.

 

Al-Dakhil inaugurated a number of important projects in the town.

 

The visit witnessed the opening of the optical cable service to improve the internet in the town. The Syriac letters monument was also opened at the entrance to the town, as a symbol of education.

 

After that, Al-Dakhil visited the Qasra Hall and got acquainted with its modernity and security specifications.

 

He also visited the Syriac Catholic Archdiocese of Mosul and its Environs.

 

Al-Dakhil met with Syriac Catholic Archbishop of Mosul and its Environs Mor Younan Hinno and discussed with him the situation of Christians and their needs.

 

The need to find ways for Christians safe return and ensuring their stability were also touched on.

 

The Archbishop thanked the central government and the local government in Mosul for their continuous support for the Christian presence in Iraq.
