Kerkeslokh (Kirkuk) Council in Iraq postpones voting on new Provincial Logo
KERKESLOKH, Iraq — The Kerkeslokh (Kirkuk) Provincial Council in Iraq has postponed the vote on the new Provincial Logo, because the logo did not include Syriac language, along with the other included languages, Shafak News Agency reported.
After the objection of the politicians of the Chaldean-Syriac-Assyrian people’s political parties, Co-Chair of the Kerkeslokh (Kirkuk) Provincial Council Mohammed Ibrahim al-Hafiz postponed the vote to the next session, in order to add points and adopt a logo that is accepted by all members of the Provincial Council.
Kerkeslokh (Kirkuk) in northern Iraq is witnessing great political tension between the governments of Baghdad and Erbil. This tension has been reflected on the local administration of the city.
On 10th August, a meeting was held, during which Rebwar Taha was elected as Governor and Mohammed Ibrahim al-Hafiz as Governor Deputy.
