Syrian Democratic Youth Council holds a seminar on youth political empowerment in Raqqa, North and East Syria

RAQQA, Syria — Under the title, “Youth Political Empowerment and Their Role in Change and Democratic Transformation”, the Syrian Democratic Youth Council (SDYC) held a seminar in Raqqa, North and East Syria.

The seminar was attended by youth movements, including the Syriac Progressive Youth Union, as well as the SDYC representatives in Raqqa, members of the Future Syria Party and the Peace Party.

The seminar dealt with ways to enhance the national identity among youth, youth national discourse and youth role in consolidating the national policy.

The discussions reflected the importance of youth political empowerment and the quest to create a politically conscious youth generation that has an active role in the process of democratic transformation.

The seminar was concluded with several recommendations, read by Syriac Progressive Youth Union Member Miray Danho.

The recommendations included consolidating youth support politically and in community work and affirming that the Syrian identity is an identity that unites all the youth, regardless of their differences.

In addition to enhancing youth political participation and promoting dialogue among Syrian youth to be a preliminary step to reach a comprehensive Syrian-Syrian dialogue.
