European Syriac Union held a seminar on Lebanon in Göppingen, Germany
GÖPPINGEN, Germany — The Syriac Cultural Center in Göppingen, Germany hosted a dialogue seminar on Lebanon situation, organized by the European Syriac Union (ESU).
The seminar was attended by Syriac (Aramean-Chaldean-Assyrian) people in Göppingen, as well as priests Malke Tabar and Habib Önder.
The ESU representatives in Göppingen opened the seminar by a minute of silence in honor of the martyrs of Syriac people.
Yakub Mirza delivered the ESU speech, in which he spoke about the accelerated developments in the Middle East, their impact on the homeland of Beth Nahrin (Mesopotamia) and the capabilities of Syriac people in North and East Syria.
Via Skype, President of the Universal Syriac Union Party (USUP) in Lebanon Ibrahim Mrad spoke about the political and military tensions, focusing on the ongoing war between Israel and the pro-Iranian Hezbollah in Lebanon, as well as the impact of that war on the existence and future of Syriac people in Lebanon.
Mrad touched upon the Hezbollah crimes against Lebanon and its people.
The attendees were invited to express their opinions and ask their questions.
After that, Mirza delivered a speech about the importance of providing Syriac people with all forms of support for the national struggle.
