Mosul University in Iraq holds a seminar on Syriac language and its role in achieving sustainable development
MOSUL, Iraq — The Faculty of Education and Humanities in Mosul University held an educational seminar entitled, “Syriac Language and Its Role in Achieving Sustainable Development,” at the Education Faculty Hall in Mosul, Iraq.
The seminar aimed to introduce the Syriac language and its role in achieving the sustainable development goals and human rights.
The seminar was attended by university and faculty teachers, as well as staff and students.
The seminar included several topics, such as the Syriac translation of the Bible, Syriac language in religious rituals, as well as Syriac cultural heritage through manuscripts, in addition to selected examples of the similarity of the Akkadian and Syriac vocabulary and the pioneers of the Syriac renaissance in the modern era.
At the end of the seminar, the door was opened to ask questions.
Then, certificates of appreciation were distributed to the lecturers.
