Coordination Committee of Syriac People Political Parties in Sweden visits Apostolic Visitor for Chaldean Catholics in Europe
SÖDERTÄLJE, Sweden — The Coordination Committee of Syriac (Aramean-Chaldean-Assyrian) people’s nationalist parties in Sweden, consisting of the European Syriac Union (ESU), Assyrian Democratic Organization (ADO) and Assyrian Democratic Movement and the Bet-Nahrain Democratic Party visited the Chaldean Catholic Archdiocese in Sweden and met with Apostolic Visitor for Chaldean Catholics in Europe archbishop Mor Saad Serop.
They touched upon the efforts exerted to unite the ranks of Syriac people in preserving their identity and heritage, as well as enhancing cooperation between political parties and churches.
They also stressed the importance of dialogue and coordination to achieve common understanding on national and religious issues.
This visit came within the Committee work program and its continuous meetings with the parties and churches of Syriac people.
Earlier, the Committee had visited the Assyrian Church of the East, and it intends to visit the Syriac Orthodox Archbishop in Sweden Mor Yohanoun Lahdo.
The meeting also discussed ways to strengthen unity between the parties and the churches through organizing joint meetings and dialogues aimed at bringing points of view closer.
Archbishop Serop stressed the importance of continuing constructive dialogue between different parties to achieve common understanding and protect the rights of Syriac people.
The Committee delegation explained its work on developing new mechanisms to implement projects that serve the Syriac people in Sweden and the diaspora.
