Syrian regime regains some villages in Hemto (Hama) amid intense battles
HEMTO, Syria — Intense battles persist in northern Syria as Syrian regime forces clash with Hayat Tahrir al-Sham and the Turkish-backed Syrian National Army (SNA).
In the latest developments, the Syrian regime announced the recapture of several villages in the countryside of Hemto (Hama). According to the Syrian News Agency (SANA), regime forces successfully repelled an assault by the factions and regained control of towns and villages along the Maharda-Al-Suqaylabiyah Road, including Karnaz, Tel Milih, Al-Jalama, Al-Jabeen, Hayalin, and Al-Sheikh Hadid.
The Syrian Ministry of Defense reported that dozens of opposition fighters were killed in the last 24 hours during joint Syrian-Russian airstrikes targeting faction gatherings and convoys in the countrysides of Hemto and Edleb (Idlib). The strikes also resulted in significant destruction of equipment and vehicles used by the factions. The Syrian regime and Russia also targeted population centers and hospitals across Edleb and Holeb, resulting in dozens of civilian casualties.
