Syriac fashion designers honored for 25 years of excellence in Vienna

VIENNA — The Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Vienna, Austria, honored Syriac couple Leyla and Hanna Bahdi for their 25 years of success as owners of a renowned fashion store.

The Chamber praised the couple’s creativity in designing fashion that seamlessly blends tradition with modern culture. Their designs are deeply inspired by the rich cultural and historical heritage of the Beth Nahrin (Mesopotamian) people.

The Bahdis’ store has become a model for innovative fashion that reflects the Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) and Babylonian heritage, incorporating elements from traditional costumes. Their unique creations have been showcased at prominent international exhibitions in Paris, London, New York, and other major cities worldwide.

As part of the celebration, Leyla and Hanna Bahdi were presented with the prestigious Master Award, recognizing their exceptional contributions to fashion and culture.

The event also featured a concert with unique musical performances, adding to the significance of the occasion for the couple and the legacy of their iconic store.
