Syriac Union Party in Syria congratulates Syrian people on the Assad’s regime overthrow

ZALIN, DARAMSUQ, Syria — The Syriac Union Party (SUP) in Syria issued a statement after the overthrow of the authoritarian regime of the President Bashar al-Assad.

The SUP congratulated the Syrian people with all its ethnic components on this historic day.

********** STATEMENT **********

On this historic day that Syria is going through, which witnesses the end and fall of the tyrannical regime and the beginning of a new era and a new dawn of freedom, we congratulate all the Syrian people.

Today, Syria returns to its children after long years of injustice and tyranny, to turn a page and open a new page to build Syria on freedom, dignity and democracy, in which all ethnic components of the great Syrian people must contribute and interact.

 Today also requires working to secure a safe and normal life for all civilians, securing all urgent services for them, as well as achieving security and stability.

 The Syriac Union Party (SUP), which has struggled since its establishment to achieve its national and patriotic goals and has stood with the Syrian revolution since its launch in 2011, and through its long and continuous struggle, has paid a great price in martyrs and detainees.

One of the SUP founders, comrade Saeed Malke, also offered a price and sacrifice for this struggle for the freedom of Syriac-Assyrian people and the freedom of all ethnic components in Syria.

We have been working hand in hand with all the people of Syria and promoting the values ​​of coexistence, believing in the necessity for all ethnic components to unite and agree on work, struggle and goals in order to achieve freedom and democracy, as well as preserve national and religious pluralism in Syria. 

We congratulate all Syriac-Assyrian people and all Christians in Syria on the day of victory and freedom. We emphasize the importance of the next stage which requires more work and organizing the ranks.

We are up to this historical stage, as an indigenous ethnic component in Syria whose roots extend back thousands of years.

Together, we will work to strengthen our presence and role in the new Syria and establish all our national and religious rights, as well as achieve justice and equality for all the children of free Syria.

We pledge to continue our struggle, and our hand is extended to all who work for freedom and democracy away from extremism, chauvinism and tyranny.

Once again, we congratulate all the Syrian people on this historic and blessed day with the dawn of freedom whose sun rose on Syria due to the struggle and sacrifices of its great people.
