Syriac Union Party and local initiatives mobilize to support displaced Syrians in North and East Syria
NORTH AND EAST SYRIA — Amid the mass displacement of residents from the Tel Rifaat and Shahba areas in the northern countryside of Holeb (Aleppo), who fled to safer regions in North and East Syria, popular and official efforts continue to provide much-needed aid.
Fadi Dawe, a member of the Syriac Union Party (SUP) Council, expressed solidarity with the displaced Syrians during comments to our news desk. He urged institutions and organizations to deliver humanitarian assistance and highlighted ongoing coordination with the Syriac Cross and the Syriac–Assyrian People’s Property Committee to make vacant houses available for displaced families.
Sawsan Abdul Ahad, a member of the SUP Executive Committee in the Hasakah Branch, emphasized their unwavering support for all Syrians, especially those displaced from Cafrin (Afrin) and Holeb. “We are facing a real humanitarian crisis, but all homes are open to the displaced,” she affirmed.
The northern countryside of Holeb has witnessed widespread displacement due to armed factions seizing control of Tel Rifaat and Shahba. This has intensified pressure on the Democratic Autonomous Administration of the Regions of North and East Syria (DAARNES), which is struggling to meet the growing needs of displaced populations amidst limited resources.
