Syriac Union Party and European Syriac Union call for community discussions on future of Syriac–Assyrian people in Syria
SÖDERTÄLJE, Sweden — The Syriac Union Party (SUP) and the European Syriac Union (ESU) issued a joint appeal to Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) people regardless of their designations, denominations, or political affiliations to unite in discussing their future as an indigenous ethnic component in Syria.
The appeal emphasizes the importance of addressing the role of the Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) community in Syria’s present and future alongside other ethnic groups within the country.
In a statement shared on Facebook, the SUP and ESU invited all free Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) individuals to engage in this critical dialogue. The discussions can take place via telephone communication or in person at the Beth Nahrin Cultural Center, located within the headquarters of Suroyo TV in Södertälje, Sweden.
This initiative seeks to foster unity and proactive dialogue about the community’s aspirations and challenges in shaping Syria’s future.
