European Syriac Union and Administration of North and East Syria condemn terrorist attack on Magdeburg Christmas market

MAGDEBURG, Germany — Following the terrorist attack by a Saudi doctor targeting a Christmas market in Magdeburg, Germany, the European Syriac Union (ESU) released a statement via Facebook condemning the act of terror.

The ESU expressed regret that such an attack could target an occasion meant to celebrate joy and community. The statement called for swift accountability for both the perpetrators and those responsible for orchestrating this inhumane act. The ESU also extended its heartfelt condolences to the victims and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.

The Democratic Autonomous Administration of the Region of North and East Syria (DAARNES) also denounced the attack, offering condolences to the German government and people. DAARNES emphasized its solidarity with Germany, recognizing the country’s early support for the Administration and reaffirming their shared commitment to combating extremism and terrorism to safeguard regional and international security.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia likewise condemned the attack, reiterating its firm stance against violence and terrorism. The Saudi government expressed its sympathy, offering sincere condolences to the victims’ families and the German government and people, along with wishes for the injured to recover swiftly.
