Democratic Autonomous Administration of the Region of North and East Syria: Preserving diversity and national wealth of Syria is an important basis for building a strong Syria

NORTH AND EAST SYRIA — In the wake of the recent changes in Syria after the fall of the authoritarian regime of Bashar al-Assad, the Democratic Autonomous Administration of the Region of North and East Syria (DAARNES) issued a statement.

The DAARNES statement declared that the violations in the Syrian coast against the Alawites, as well as the Christmas tree burning in Hemto (Hama) does not serve the interests of Syria’s future, because preserving the diversity and national wealth of Syria is an important basis for building a strong Syria.

The DAARNES stressed in its statement that protecting the diversity and pluralism in Syria, as well as respecting symbols, customs and traditions is an urgent necessity.

“Protecting the rights and duties of all affiliations, society groups and ethnic components is a national duty that cannot be touched,” the DAARNES added.

The statement pointed out that the continuation of the wrong approach in dealing with any of the ethnic components of Syria, by any force or entity, will have negative repercussions, and will not serve the stability situation in Syria. Rather, it will lead to clashes and conflicts affecting the unity of Syria and its people.

The DAARNES stated that it has struggled for many years to preserve the unity of Syria by adopting the project of a democratic nation based on the unity and solidarity of all ethnic components, on the basis of partnership and belonging to a common struggle against projects that fuel conflicts.
