French President Macron reaffirms support for Syrian Democratic Forces, advocates for political stability in Syria
PARIS — French President Emmanuel Macron reiterated France’s steadfast political positions on the Middle East and the ongoing Syrian crisis during a speech in Paris.
Macron reaffirmed France’s commitment to supporting its allies in Syria, particularly the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), which he described as a crucial partner in the fight against terrorism. He emphasized France’s recognition of the SDF as a strategic ally, not only in countering terrorist threats but also in promoting political stability in the region.
Macron underscored the importance of achieving a comprehensive political solution in Syria that guarantees the country’s unity and stability. He highlighted France’s ongoing support for the SDF in their struggle against injustice and terrorism, praising their sacrifices and honoring the martyrs who fought to liberate Syria from extremist forces.
During a recent visit to Daramsuq (Damascus), Syria, French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot emphasized the value of France’s partnership with the SDF. He acknowledged their pivotal role in maintaining security and stability, as well as their importance in shaping Syria’s political future and participating in the emerging authority.
